Kakashi Sensei (to Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura): The purpose of this test is to see whether you can forgot about your own interest and successfully work together under the designed circumstances.

Kakashi Sensei (to Naruto): Superior individual ability is important but what’s even more important is

‘teamwork’.

Kakashi Sensei : Those who break the rules and codes of the ninja world are called trash. But you know what? Those who don’t take care of their comrades are lower than trash!

Naruto (looking at Sasuke): I could do nothing, yet he . . . It was his first real battle. Was he not scared at all? He looks as if nothing happened. And he doesn’t even have a speck of dust on him. He even saved me . . . Sasuke (to Naruto): You alright scared y Cat?

Naruto (after stabbing himself on his hand): I swear it on this pain in my left hand with this kunai, i’ll protect the old man. We are continuing the mission.

Naruto: I’m not going to need saving ever again. I’m not going to be afraid and try to run. I won’t lose to Sasuke!

Sasuke: What an incredibly dangerous Ki. It feels like i’ll be killed if i make a single move. This could drive a person crazy. The intensity of a jounin . . . it feels like my life is being squeezed. I can’t take it. I’d almost rather die now and get it over with.

Kakashi Sensei : Sasuke! Don’t worry. I’ll protect you guys even if it kills me. I don’t let my comrades die.

Zabuza: Hehe wearing forehead protectors and acting like real ninjas . . . But you know what? A real ninja is someone who has survived numerous brushes with death.

Zabuza: Basically once you’re good enough to be listed in my handbook, then you can start calling yourself a ninja.

Naruto (to Zabuza): Hey you eyebrow-less freak! Put this in your handbook: The man who will one day become Hokage; Leaf village ninja: Uzumaki Naruto.

Zabuza: Long ago, in the hidden Mist village there was a final obstacle in becoming a ninja: Fights to the death between the students.

Naruto: That Zabuza was killed. A guy that strong was killed by a kid? By a kid not different from me! We look stupid.

Kakashi Sensei (to Naruto): In this world there exists kids younger than you and yet stronger than me. Inari: What are you, stupid? There is no such thing as a hero.

Sakura: Simply put, chakra is the energy a shinobi needs when performing a Jutsu. That energy has two parts. The body energy that is in each of the billions of your cells and the spiritual energy gained through training and other experiences. These two parts are combined. So by bringing out and releasing chakra, you can use a Jutsu. This is done through the process of performing a seal with hands.

Kakashi Sensei: To release chakra means to bring out physical and spiritual energy and mix them together within your body. And based on what jutsu you use, the type and amount of chakra that is released will be different.

Kakashi Sensei(to Naruto and Sasuke): You guys are not using chakra effectively yet. Even if you are able to release a high amount of chakra, unless you control it properly; the jutsu will be weakened or not work at all. And by wasting energy, you won't be able to fight as long.

Kakashi Sensei: Learn how to control your chakra.
